Good News

What’s The Good News of Jesus Christ?

The Good News of Jesus Christ is that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

"The Good News of Jesus Christ is that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

Romans 1:16

We could all use some good news, don’t you think? We all long for real, lasting hope that goes deeper than our temporary daily struggles and joys.

But this good news is unlike anything else you’ll ever experience. Better than getting that promotion. Better than announcing a birth, engagement, or graduation. Better than getting a clean bill of health. This is the best news you’ll ever hear.

The Good News of Jesus Christ is that the God of the universe—the Maker of everything—knows you by name. He created you with care and purpose, and He desires to walk with you every day, in every season. But there is a barrier between us and God: sin. We’ve all made choices that separate us from Him.

Yet even knowing this, God did not turn away. Instead, in an unfathomable act of selfless love and sacrifice, He gave His only Son, Jesus, so you could be brought close to Him again. Jesus came to show us that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). He came to love us and to demonstrate God’s love perfectly, because even while we were still sinners, Jesus laid down His life so that we might live forever with Him.

On the cross, Jesus carried all our sins—every regret, every failure, every bad choice and hidden wound—and paid the price in full. Then He rose again, proving His power over death and offering new life to all who believe.

Today, He invites you simply to come. To believe in Him. To trust that His love is enough.

"Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

If you feel a stirring in your heart, know that it’s His invitation. You don’t need perfect words; you just need a willing heart. Revelation 3: 20 paints this picture beautifully: “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.”

Here’s a simple way you can respond and invite Him in:

  • Acknowledge that you need Him: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
  • Believe that Jesus is who He says He is: "To all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12). “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
  • Confess your faith: "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

This response might sound something like this:

“Father, I have made mistakes. I’ve wronged others, and I’ve wronged You. But I believe You sent Your Son to die for me and that He rose again. I believe that Jesus is Lord, and I ask you to forgive me for my sins. Thank you for rescuing me and for making a way for me to be with You.”

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
